Announcement
We are so pleased to inform you that "Japan-Korea Bioinfomatics Training Course" is held at the Center for Information Biology and DNA Data Bank of Japan (CIB-DDBJ) in National Institute of Genetics on March 15-18, 2002. Attached please see a separate sheet for more detailed information.
If you are interested in participating in this training course, please apply it now! Since the number of participants is limited to about 10 Japanese and 5 Korean students, the participants will be accepted on the basis of the first come the first service. Send your application to the following email address: nmurakat@genes.nig.ac.jp.
Objective
It has been agreed at the Japan - Korea Science and Technology Forum (J-K STF) held in Seoul in 2001 that both countries should collaborate to hold a bioinformatics training course in order to educate young Japanese and Korean students in this field. On the basis of this agreement, we will hold the Japan - Korea Bioinformatics Training Course at the Center for Information Biology and DNA Data Bank of Japan as one of the training course series, Terakoya (a private school of the Edo period). We hope that this will be the first step toward the establishment of training and exchanging mechanisms of views and people in bioinformatics in Asian countries.
Outline
- Venue: Center for Information Biology and DNA Data Bank of Japan (CIB-DDBJ), National Institute of Genetics (NIG), Mishima, Japan
- Dates: March 15 - March 18, 2002
